2008-2010 AFSCME LOCAL 2960 M.O.U.

The following is a brief overview of the pay increases in the new MOU.  The full MOU is available in 3 parts on this web site if you need additional information.

• Across the board wage increase of 1.7%
• Employees with 20 or more years of service will max out at $6,000 longevity each year (currently the maximum is $5,000 per year)
• Line of Duty death insurance policy will increase from $30,000 to $75,000
• Effective January 1, 2009 the City will contribute $6.00 per month per full-time employee to obtain a long term care/life insurance policy they can keep when they retire.  
• .3% increase in health and dental insurance
• Increase uniform allowance for Fire Prevention Specialist and Fire Prevention Specialist Trainee from $645 to $725 per year
• Provide no less than 80% uniform allowance to part-time Municipal Security Guards in Library
• One time jacket allowance for Police Assistants and Municipal Security Guards working outside in Police Transit

The second year total compensation package is as follows:

• Minimum 2.05% across the board wage increase (the raise will increase if the health and dental insurance increase is less than .3%)
• Unit members retiring on or after July 1, 2009 who are eligible for MERP will receive an additional $100 per month when choosing single coverage (currently we only have this for those choosing family coverage)
• Longevity for employees with nineteen years or less of service will increase from $96.25 per year to $100 per year
• If City revenues increase by 7.5% or more an additional raise will be paid in October 2009
