The 5 Golden Rules for Unit 3 Employees 

1.  The moment a supervisor discusses possible discipline with you and has not offered you a union rep notify your union steward or call the union office: 602.254.3966.  Notify your union immediately when given discipline or bad PMG.

Do NOT wait.

2.  When given a Notice of Inquiry or possible discipline, do not discuss, email, or write a response to your supervisor until you have conferred with your union. Confer with a rep immediately.

3.  In a disciplinary matter, if questioned, tell your supervisor that you will need to check your notes to refresh your memory and will need to contact your union rep prior to responding.

4.    Nothing can go into your file without your signature.  Do not sign any document without checking to see if it is disciplinary or can lead to discipline and if so request a union rep. Remember to get a copy of any documentation relating to a discipline matter.

5.    If you are in the middle of a grievance and the supervisor asks for a time extension for them to answer you, tell them to call your union rep for the extension. Do NOT grant it yourself.
