Thank you negotiating team. A job well done. I can understand your frustration. Thank you for negotiating in everybody's best interest and putting jobs first. You're the best.
Heather... You made my night. I thought the first comments were going to be so very negative. Thank you for your words... Your truly put a smile on my face. - Frank Piccioli
I couldn't be more proud of my unit. frank, you've done us proud!
So are we looking at the same as last year basically? 24 hours of furlough time, or 48 hours? Clarify the "24 addtl hours" bit please.
It would be a total of 48 hours the first year. Current concessions would continue of the 24 hours, plus an additional 24 hours. Second year would be another 8 hours of floating holiday furlough.
are u saying 6 eight hour furlough days each year?
My question corresponds to Rocky's. If you could please explain the entire bullet point beginning with "24 hrs addtl furloughs..." How will this be applied into practice? Additionally, please explain the 2nd to last bullet point that mentions the scheduling of furlough.
It means next year there will be six days of furlough... Same as when we started furloughs a few years ago. As for scheduling... You can take them when you want if you schedule them in advance. If not there will be an interval schedule to take them. This flexibility is only offered if we vote yes on the contract.
With a ratified contract, this includes an agreement that management will work with employees on scheduling the furlough. Also, the 8 hours of holiday furlough can be taken in 1 hour increments, on the holiday of the employees choice. Without this contract, there won't be any agreement in place, and we could be at the mercy of the department supervisors to schedule the furloughs.
Thank you for the Valiant effort. We are Disappointed in the City management, If they they worked for private industry and kept running it to the red, they would all be fired. As a Worker for the Citezens of Phoenix, I am Offended at the Booshwa contempt of management towards us and ultimatly the citezens, I hold them responsible for this mess.
First of all thank you to the negotiating team I know and trust you tried your hardest to get the best contract for us, I back you all the way. I know we will have to tighten our belts once again, Like you put it the City of Phoenix has to earn our trust again and rebuild the bridges that were burnt, I for myself find it difficult to trust our Mayor and any of the City council members, or even the City manager who states that we have to give up so much so he can line his pockets with our blood, sweat and tears. Just know I am for the lesser of two evils and I will support you and the negotiation team 100% you I trust the City of Phoenix Mayor and Coucil I don't
GOOD BLESS OUR UNION,
with the continuing/additional hours of furlough we have to take, will our vacation time be capped or will we be able to roll over, or build any amount of time into the new year?
What is an equitability clause? and the 8 holiday hours furlough the second year, 1 hour at a time statement. Does that mean we could furlough an hour off of each holiday until we reach our 8 hours? Thank you.
I am planning to come by the union hall tomorrow after work to vote. It will be close to 6 p.m. since I work until 5. Has anything changed regarding the time or location? Thanks a lot for everything.
Good job dealing with then the propoganda. Years will pass before the employees will be worth more then a dot on paper. I hope the unions can become more involved in the contracts offered to executives and the budget process.
